Meet Sally Jordan
Where were you born?
What are you passionate about? What do you do that gets you excited and makes you want to share that passion with others?
Being a positive light in the world. Making a difference. Helping people in small ways every day. Not big grand gestures but being good to people. Inspiring people and cheering them on to achieve their goals. This is my true passion. I also enjoy hobbies of distance running (half marathons), reading and drinking good wine!
Knowing that this is a project designed to tell your story, are there any moments that stand out as life-changing? Experiences that altered the path you were on and made you look at things in a whole new light?
Not one particular moment. But after 20 years of being a women in a business leadership role while also raising a family I have realized we (all people both men and women)need to cut ourselves some slack, and people need to cheerlead each other more. It's okay not to have it all together all the time - nobody does. Carrying the responsibility of raising good humans, making good decisions at work that impact people's lives in a very real way, doing what is right for employees, patients, the community, my family - is a heavy load but I am also very fortunate to get to carry that load.
If you knew then what you know now... What advise or wisdom would you pass on to the younger generations so that they may focus on what you found to be really important as they grow older?
Don't pretend or try to live your life pleasing others. Those who matter will accept you for who you are. Just be a good human and the rest will fall into place.
What is one of the things you like most about living in the Cincinnati area?
All the cities within the area are all different - cultures, aesthetics - the variety and diversity of them all, but they are still close enough together to be able to visit them all in one day if you wanted. You can experience city living and country living with just a few minutes drive!
If you had unlimited resources at your disposal, what would you do to help make Cincinnati a better place?
Expanding the Little Miami Bike Trail to every neighborhood and area of the city!
Any other comments you would like to make?
