MEET RON DICK

Vietnam Veteran

Ron grew up in Mt. Healthy and at the age of 17.  He enlisted under the Buddy-Buddy system and did his basic training at Ft. Benning, Ga.  Ron trained as a paratrooper and eventually learned to be a diesel mechanic.  The experience of Vietnam and finding his faith changed Ron and lead him to become the man he is today.

Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio.

What are you passionate about?

Fishing, and sharing my Christian faith. I am a retired missionary (in Zimbabwe, Africa).

Knowing that this is a project designed to tell your story, are there any moments that stand out as life-changing? 

Becoming a Believer in Christ, and going to Africa as a missionary.

If you knew then what you know now... What advise or wisdom would you pass on to the younger generations so that they may focus on what you found to be really important as they grow older? 

I would encourage them to read and study The Bible and the Truth therein. To build upon a solid foundation based upon Biblical beliefs.

What is one of the things you like most about living in the Cincinnati area? 

I love the greenery and waterways of Kentucky, where I live.

What would you do to help make Cincinnati a better place? 

Support Christian faith-based projects.

Any other comments you would like to make?

Looking at what's happening in America today, I believe there's a real need for fundamental spiritual values to be developed and restored in the lives of people, especially so the youth.
