Your age?

66

Where were you born?

Virgie , Ky

What are you passionate about?

Camping and Photography - My parents would go camping in the family car when I was about 10 or so . It wasn't easy but we always had such a great time together . The campfire was the centerpiece for all the fun . We would roast marshmallows ,talk and play games . It seemed that we would always meet some of my relatives and cousins . It was a very simple camping experience always filled with fun and usually something to talk about on the next trip . I carried on the tradition and my children also experienced camping . We even spent vacations camping or would rent a pop up camper . It was always a adventure to say the least . Once in Gatlinburg Tennessee the park Rangers moved us to two different camping spots because of flooding on the nearby creek . I think that time we just gave up packed up and went home . My children also do some camping but not as much as their old dad . I suspect some day they will want to do more than they do now just because it's the only time you can honestly get away from everything . I like it because you can't do any projects , cooking is minimal so your almost forced to slow down and just enjoy the experience and company of friends around you . I belong to a camping club now days where we all meet at designated campground and enjoy the experience together . I also have had a interest in photography ever since the birth of my first daughter . I would take photos of my daughter all the time and then I began taking photos at all of the family holidays and special events . it seemed the more photos I took the better I got at it . Eventually I took senior pictures and a wedding or two . It is something that I enjoy and time flies when I'm deeply involved in creating something that I feel is special to not only myself but also to others . That's why I'm involved at studio 221 Photography .There is so much to learn about photography and I have a excellent group of teachers to learn from . Who knows where this adventure will lead me . I'm not sure but I do know that having the ability to share with others what I see and feel through art is very fulfilling and a blessing to me .

Knowing that this is a project designed to tell your story, are there any moments that stand out as life-changing?

I think that all of life is an adventure and any experience big or little can be life changing . Having children certainly motivated me to want to ensure that they had a better life than I . I accomplished that but there was a point in life where I had to decide on a career or my family and for me it was my family above all else .

If you knew then what you know now... What advise or wisdom would you pass on to the younger generations so that they may focus on what you found to be really important as they grow older?

I would advise anyone to set some goals and stay focused on them . You can achieve anything if you set your mind on it !!

What is one of the things you like most about living in the Cincinnati area?

Cincinnati is the city I always came to for sports and fun when growing up . I lived in Louisville and to me it was the big city . Cincinnati has the arts and sports and beautiful parks it has everything one would want in a big town .

If you had unlimited resources at your disposal, what would you do to help make Cincinnati a better place?

I would like to set up specific centers all around town for disadvantaged children to be able to get help with personal problems of any kind . While they were there they could get involved in various community sports to keep them out of trouble . I would hope they could get a free tutor for school help .

Any other comments you would like to make?

America is the greatest country in the world and we all need to be careful with it and our Freedoms . God Bless America ..
